My little scribe

Lillian wrote her name for the first time today!  She wrote Lill and then asked me what came next.  I told her i came next.  She wrote that and then asked what came next.  I told her a--a circle with a line on the side of it.  She wrote that.  When I told her the last letter was an n, she wanted me to show her what it looked like, so I found one on a sheet of paper so she could finish her name.  She has been writing Ls, Ts, Es and Ds for a while now, and I've seen her try lower-case Is and Ls, but this was the first time she wrote everything herself.  It was her idea...I usually tell the kids to write the first letter of their name and then I will finish it for them.  She did this at ECFE this morning, so it was fun to show it off to the teachers.  :)  (When you look at the pictures, it is written on a paper plate that the kids made into shakers with dry beans.)

Very first time writing her name.

She did it again after getting so much praise for the first draft.  The second time is even more legible, I think. She pointed out to me that the a looked "berry good."
